How can I open a Partnership account at Firstock?

Partnership accounts must be opened offline. Regardless of the KYC status of the company or its partners, all KYC documents are required when opening the account.

Required Documents

Account Opening Forms

  • Non-Individual Application Form
  • FATCA
  • Declaration for Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO)
  • KYC & CKYC Individual
  • DDPI

Company Annexures

To be printed on company letterhead; format provided by Firstock

  • Partnership Resolution
  • List of Partners
  • Details of profit and loss sharing percentage
  • List of Authorised Signatories

Photographs

  • Two passport-size photos for each partner.

 PAN Copies

  • Company’s PAN Card - Stamped with company seal and authorised signatory’s signature
  • All Partners/Signatories (Self-Attested)

Address Proof

For the Company:

Submit any one of the following which is in Firms name, stamped with the company seal and the authorised signatory’s signature

  • Recent 3 Months Bank Statement
  • Utility Bill/ Electricity Bill/ Landline or Tele Phone Bill
  • Lease/Rent Agreement

For All Directors/Signatories:

  • Aadhaar card (Self-Attested)

Certificate of Registration(If the partnership is registered)

  • Copy signed and stamped with the company seal

Partnership Deed

  • Copy signed and stamped with the company seal

Financial Documents Required for F&O Trading

Submit any one of the following:

  • Last two years’ Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Balance Sheets
  • Networth certificate if the company is newly registered 

Bank Account Proof

Submit any one of the following:

  • Cancelled cheque or passbook front page or statement with the name of the firm, complete account number and IFSC code of the Firm’s bank account.

 Additional Documents for NRI Directors

  • PAN Copy – Self-attested & notarised
  • Address Proof – Self-attested & notarised Indian & overseas address proof
  • Passport & Visa:
    • Indian Passport Holders: Self-attested & notarised passport + VISA page
    • Foreign Passport Holders: PIO/OCI card or Resident Card
  • FATCA Declaration – Signed
  • FEMA – Signed

 In-Person Verification (IPV)

  • As per SEBI regulations, In-Person Verification (IPV) is mandatory. It can be completed via a video call Google Meet, or by visiting the Firstock office in person.

 Important Notes

  • One-person companies (OPCs) are not eligible to open trading accounts
  • Nominees cannot be added to non-individual accounts, as per CDSL guidelines

No. The mobile number and email ID used for a Partnership Demat Account and Individual Demat Account must be different from those registered for an individual trading and demat account.
Yes, a partnership firm can invest in shares and mutual funds by opening a Partnership Demat and Trading account in the firm's name. The investments will be held jointly by the partners as per the partnership agreement.
The trading account is registered in the partnership firm's name, while the demat account is held jointly by the authorized partners on the firm's behalf. Both are linked to the firm's PAN.
