What is the procedure to update the address linked to my NRI account with Firstock?

The address registered with a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Firstock account can only be changed offline. Unlike resident accounts, where updates can be made online, NRIs must follow an offline process to update their registered address.

Here’s how to change your address:

Ensure Your KYC is Updated:

    • Verify that your KYC status is marked as “Non-resident” on the relevant ITD portal with the latest address.
    • If your KYC is updated, notarised documents are not required; only self-attested copies of the documents need to be submitted.
    • If not updated, the documents must be self-attested and notarised by an authorised official (such as an Indian embassy representative, officials of overseas branches of scheduled commercial banks in India, public notaries, court magistrates, or judges). The attesting authority must include their original “Verified” stamp, name, designation, signature, and date.

Prepare the Required Documents: Complete the necessary forms and gather the following documents:

Account Modification Form

- Download and complete the account modification form (PDF).

- Ensure your signature on the form matches the signature on file (which you can verify through your Firstock account documents).

FATCA Declaration

- Submit the FATCA declaration (PDF).

- Use the provided sample form as a reference. (Refer to the appropriate TIN details for your country, e.g., USA: SSN/EIN/ITIN, Canada: SIN, etc.)

Passport

- Provide a self-attested copy of your valid passport:

• For Indian passports, include the place of birth as India and a valid visa.
• For foreign passports, include the visa and the relevant PIO, OCI, or resident card.

Address Proof

- Submit a self-attested copy of your address proof.

-Must have either of the three:

  • VISA

  • Residence Permit

  • Citizenship Copy

- For Indian address proof (if available) or Overseas address proof, acceptable documents include a driving licence, foreign passport, utility bills, bank statement, banker letter (on the bank's letterhead), rental agreement, lease/sale deed, or a resident permit/OCI card.

PAN Card

- Provide a self-attested copy of your PAN card.

Submission Process:

    • Email Soft Copies: Once you have prepared all the documents, email the soft copies to the designated Firstock email (sales@firstock.in).
    • Review & Corrections: The documents will be reviewed by the Firstock team, and any necessary corrections will be communicated.
    • Courier Originals: After the review, courier the original documents to the Firstock Customer Support Centre.

Processing Time:

    • Once we receive the documents, the process typically takes up to 72 working hours to complete.

    No need to issue cheques by investors while subscribing to IPO.Just write the bank account number and sign in the application form to authorise your bank to make payment in case of allotment. No worry for refund as the money remains in investor's account.

    Procedure to file a complaint on SCORES (Easy & quick). Register on SCORES portal and have the mandatory details for filing complaints on SCORES (Name, PAN, Address, Mobile Number and E-mail ID). Benefits: Effective Communication and Speedy redressal of the grievances.

    Dear Investor, if you are subscribing to an IPO, there is no need to issue a cheque. Please write the Bank account number and sign the IPO application form to authorize your bank to make payment in case of allotment. In case of non-allotment, the funds will remain in your bank account. As a business we don't give stock tips, and have not authorized anyone to trade on behalf of others. 

    Stock Brokers can accept securities as margin from clients only by way of pledge in the depository system w.e.f. September 01, 2020. Update your email id and mobile number with your stock broker / depository participant and receive OTP directly from depository on your email id and/or mobile number to create pledge Check your securities/MF/bonds in the consolidated account statement issued by NSDL/CDSL every month.
