Why is the buy average price of some purchased shares incorrect?
The buy average price on the Firstock platform is calculated using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method. However, there are a few scenarios where the displayed average may appear incorrect:
- After a Corporate Action (e.g., Bonus, Split, Merger):
- The buy average may temporarily be inaccurate.
- We manually update the average price to reflect the corporate action adjustments.
- Transfer of Shares from Another Broker:
- If you transfer shares from another broker to Firstock, the buy average is not automatically updated.
- In this case, you’ll need to manually update the buy average price from your end.
To update your buy average manually, you can use the "Update Buy Price" feature available in the holdings section.
