Why do sold stocks appear as negative positions and impact P&L on Firstock?

When you sell stocks through Firstock, the sold quantity may appear as a negative position, and the related P&L may be displayed in real time. This is normal and helps track the position until the trade is squared off or settled.

  • For intraday trades, the negative position and live P&L remain until the position is squared off.
  • For delivery trades, the shares are debited from your Demat account as per the applicable T+1 settlement cycle, and the position is updated accordingly.
  • You can check the Order Book, Trade Book, and Holdings for the latest status.
  • If the negative position or P&L remains after the expected settlement timeline, please contact Firstock Support with the relevant trade details and screenshot.
